Mailbox migration FAQ
What is mailbox migration?
Mailbox migration copies email messages and folders from one mail server to another. Ace Mail Migrate uses the IMAP protocol to read mail from the source and write it to the destination, preserving folder hierarchy and read/unread status where supported.
How do I migrate email from one server to another?
Fill in the source IMAP server (where mail is now) and destination server (where mail should go), enter credentials, and click Test connections. If both sides login successfully, start synchronization. Use dry run first to validate without copying data.
Can I migrate Gmail or Google Workspace mailboxes?
Yes, if IMAP access is enabled in Google Admin or account settings. Select Standard IMAP, use imap.gmail.com port 993 with SSL, and an app password if two-factor authentication is on.
Can I migrate multiple mailboxes at once?
Yes. Switch to Bulk user migration, configure shared server settings once, paste one email address per line, and choose parallel workers (1–8). Up to 200 mailboxes per batch.
Are my passwords stored on your server?
No. Credentials are used only during the active migration job and are never written to disk or stored in a database. Connections use TLS encryption.
